DSD Launches Redesigned Tech Platform with New Features and Capabilities
DSD Connect will further accelerate the development and deployment of commercial solar across the U.S.
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – DSD Renewables (DSD) has launched the next evolution of its first-of-its-kind software platform, DSD Connect. The updated platform introduces new capabilities to streamline and accelerate the financing and development of solar projects, enabling commercial and industrial (C&I) partners to rapidly deploy more renewable energy across the U.S.
In just one year since its inception, DSD Connect users have created and priced nearly 1 GW of C&I solar projects across hundreds of distributed generation projects and given the platform a high Net Promoter Score of 72. The platform’s new features and functionalities create an easier and more efficient solar transaction experience, from instant pricing to securing awarded projects and contracting.
The updated platform, connected to DSD’s customer relationship management system, allows users to easily generate new sales collateral, pricing summaries, and project-specific PPA rates, providing a clearer pathway to demonstrate value and profitability with their customers. Regional development and EPC partners that have been onboarded onto DSD’s Developer Network can now upload project designs and spec sheets for frictionless bid reviews and analysis, and the platform itself can generate term sheets for faster awards.
“No other PPA provider has this capability nor are they developing anything similar. It has set [DSD] apart from everyone else…”
“We are revolutionizing the commercial solar market by creating an invaluable and scalable platform to help lead the clean energy transition,” says Danielle Fidel, Operations Director of DSD’s Developer Network. “For the first time in our industry, we see a pathway toward scalability by creating a dynamic platform and providing a one-stop-shop for design, financing, engineering, asset management, and more, now fully backed by an intuitive tool that puts the power in the hands of our partners and customers.”
The platform is integrated with DSD’s underwriting model, giving partners access to real-time, accurate contract pricing, as well as flexible third-party financing. DSD Connect streamlines a complex process, minimizing the time and number of steps typically required in the development cycle by a weighted average of 50%, based on responses to a recent survey polling DSD’s network of authorized developers.
“No other PPA provider has this capability nor are they developing anything similar. It has set [DSD] apart from everyone else and gives you the priority on any and all projects I push through the portal,” a development partner stated in the survey.
Partners can receive the necessary funding and deploy projects more efficiently and with long-term stability through DSD Connect. With DSD owning and operating the projects long term, regional partners are able to better serve their customers and grow their own businesses.
“DSD has fully embraced its unique role as a platform provider in the C&I space, and we’re constantly seeking new ways to accelerate and improve how our partners sell and build solar projects,” says Garth Jensen, Technical Director, Developer Network at DSD. “DSD Connect is an innovative software solution and we are now expanding its capabilities with new features to even better support our growing number of partners.”
