3Qs with Audrey Walker
Companies can spend up to millions, or even billions, of dollars directly on energy each year. Yet many organizations see energy as merely a cost to be managed — as opposed to an enormous opportunity to create new value. We spoke with our own Audrey Walker about how DSD helps forward-thinking companies see the often unseen. Audrey described what she does day-to-day to guide energy leaders to transformational changes.
1. What is your role at DSD as Manager, Business Development, on the Origination Team?
As Business Development Manager for DSD, I focus on sourcing new solar, solar plus energy storage, and EV charging projects for our Direct Origination team.
2. How do you support the larger DSD team?
I use a variety of tools to identify, reach out to, and initiate conversations with stake holders for new business opportunities, mostly in the commercial and industrial sectors. I look for potential projects on a national level, as well as focus on certain industry segments and regions. I also assist the other business channels — DSD Connect and our Asset Acquisitions groups — by facilitating new introductions to regional solar developers and EPCs.
“I’m excited to facilitate the wider adoption of renewable energy with an incredibly accomplished team.”
3. How is DSD, and your work, transforming the industry?
DSD is uniquely positioned to provide individualized, bespoke solar energy solutions to a wide range of industries and facility types, both from a technical and financial perspective. With advantages like our own in-house carport canopy and energy storage teams, we are able to offer robust solutions to organizations needing help meeting their ESG goals and reducing operating costs. I’m excited to facilitate the wider adoption of renewable energy with an incredibly accomplished team at DSD.
